All Aboard! Join the Unity of Sacramento Love Train

Here is a detailed description of our activities for February, 2026.

Dear Unity of Sacramento Family,

We are profoundly grateful for your prayers, generous volunteer service, and steadfast financial support as we have navigated a long period of transition. Our journey has included the protracted process of selling our primary gathering space at 9249 Folsom Boulevard. Through it all, your faith, patience, and commitment have sustained us and strengthened our sense of community.

We want to inform you that we are in the final stages of this property sale. This milestone triggers a temporary shift in how we gather on Sundays. In order to give our staff and board time to recharge, reorganize, and prepare for the next phase of our strategic plan, we will pause our normal in-person Sunday operations. This pause will allow us to move confidently toward a new chapter—finding and establishing our permanent, welcoming location for Unity of Sacramento.

During the month of February, we will continue to offer spiritual nourishment and connection through virtual services you can participate in from home. We are excited to introduce the “Unity Love Train”—a series of home-hosted services that will empower members and friends to come together in a warm, intimate setting.

Become a Home Host: Be a Sunday Stop on the Unity Love Train!

We invite you to consider hosting a Unity Love Train stop at your home. As a home host, you will invite Unity members, friends, and family to a watch party of the Unity of Sacramento live-streamed services at 10:30 am. This is a wonderful way to foster connection, share inspiration, and support one another during this transitional period.

What hosting involves

  • Invite 2–12 people to your home for the February 2026 Unity Love Train service at 10:30 am PST
  • Provide a comfortable space and access to the livestream (details provided by the Unity team).
  • Create a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere for discussion and fellowship, and serve as the discussion host for the Coffee Clutch following the service.
  • Connect with others who may need support, encouragement, and prayer during this time.

Unity Love Train: Highlights

The Love Train Lesson Series will feature the best of our Unity of Sacramento ministers, music, meditation, and a surprise “Freedom Sunday” throwback from the Expressions of Unity Choir.

Please remember to secure your copy of our annual meditation book, Meditations From the Heart, by Howard Thurman, and follow along with us each week, for our meditation.

Now, take a moment to review this Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) brochure that outlines important questions we anticipate you may have about our transition process and how to stay engaged throughout and receive our ongoing support during the process.

We deeply appreciate your continued prayers and financial support as we navigate this transitional period. Your generosity and energy are essential as we reposition for our future. We are grateful for your steadfast involvement.

Annual Membership Meeting

Please mark your calendars for our Annual Membership Meeting, which will be held in person on Sunday, February 22, 2026 at 10:30 am. There will be no in-person Sunday service on that day, but you will be fully updated on where we are and where we are going from here. We look forward to sharing our plans, answering questions, and hearing your input.

Thank you for your patience, cooperation, and enthusiasm as we move forward together. In the words of Charles Fillmore, we are reminded that, “We fairly sizzle with zeal and enthusiasm and spring forth with a mighty faith to that which ought to be done by us.”

With sincere appreciation and warm blessings,

The Reverend Dr. Kevin Kitrell Ross (Rev. Kev)

BA, MRPL, DD (hon)

Senior Minister/CEO

Unity of Sacramento Church

Presently, we are “prayerfully” in the final stages of the closing process.

1. We will vacate the property in its entirety by initializing our move out and storage phase of the process.

2. We will activate the board approved policy and process concerning the disbursement of resources from building proceeds which cover four primary priorities:

a. Repay SWAN loans and all outstanding debt

b. Deposit resources into restricted accounts for reserve and endowment

c. Allocate resources for the operations budget

d. Allocate resources in a restricted account for our new location

3. If the building sells before the last Sunday of January 2026, we will hold a Town Hall Meeting in person at the Swanston Community Center the Sunday immediately following the sale to give the congregation a full update on the sale. If thereafter, we will have a virtual Town Hall one week following the sale with the Ministers, Board of Trustees, and our Broker.

Immediately following the sale of the property, we will enter phase 2 of our “Reimagine, Reinvent, Relocate, and Reset” strategic plan. During the month of February three critical functions will take place that will require us to suspend normal in person operations, so that we can concentrate our energies on the following:

1. Recovery and Restoration: Providing staff a period of self-care and recovery after a three-year protracted period of phase 1—selling the Folsom Property.

2. Reorganization: Pertinent to the organization’s thriving, a reorganization of the Administrative Staff and key staff from the music ministry will ensue. For example:

  • Initiating a search for a new Minister of Music and Arts to replace the outgoing Director of Music and Arts, Chet Chwalik.
  • Activating the Board of Trustee search process and establishing a new date for Board of Trustee elections in order to fill new seats.
  • Establish a temporary office location to conduct essential business of the church.

3. Recasting the Relocation Vision: Key leaders will meet to reenvision and review the new vision for our new location and operationalize a plan for our next steps to secure our new home.

As you know, in Unity we celebrate the faculty of Love, during the month of February. Since so much energy will be given to envisioning and searching for our new Beloved Community’s spiritual home, we invite you to bring Unity of Sacramento to your friends and loved ones during the first three Sundays in February, by being a “stop” on our February “Love Train”. You can do this by being a home host for our livestream services.

Our Sunday services will take place on the following dates and times across the following platforms:

The dates in February for our virtual services are:

  • February 1st, 2026 at 10:30 am, with Rev. Kevin Kitrell Ross
  • February 8th, 2026 at 10:30 am, with Rev. Carolyn Warnmeuende
  • February 15th, 2026 at 10:30 am, featuring our Freedom Sunday service

The platforms are:

  • Unity of Sacramento Facebook Live
  • Unity of Sacramento YouTube Page
  • SacLife TV Channel or SacLife TV YouTube Livestream Page

As a home host, you are opening your home to your friends and family and/or your fellow Unity members to join you, in person, to enjoy the Livestream Sunday Service and to offer beverages and light refreshments as you moderate your own at-home Coffee Clutch Conversation.

The ideal home host will be able to display the Sunday service on a flat screen television screen large enough and with adequate volume to accommodate the number of guests you are able to host. Additionally, hosts are asked to use the “Love Train Hosting Handout” as a guide for moderating the Coffee Clutch Conversation.

While there will be NO worship service on February 22, 2026 at 10:30 am, the Unity of Sacramento Annual Membership Meeting will be in-person at the Swanston Community Center at that time. This meeting will be live-streamed, however, we strongly encourage that you attend this Annual Meeting in person to have your voice heard.

During the month of February, your Unity ministers will be available for prayer, counseling or to respond to emergencies on a rotational on-call basis and will serve the following shifts, as your on-call ministers:

To make sure that our February birth month is celebrated, we will do two things:

  • Sing “Happy Birthday” to all of our February birthday congregants during the Sunday, January 25th, 2026 10:30 am in-person service at Unity of Sacramento’s Swanston Center
  • Encourage our Love Train hosts to acknowledge and celebrate the February birth month at their “Love Train” home hosted service event.

Weekly in-person Sunday Services will resume on Sunday, March 1st, 2026, where Rev. Kev will give the message and will also share the microphone with you to let you TESTIFY about your incredible experiences in your February “Love Train” Home-hosted events.

We would appreciate three things from our active Unity of Sacramento members and friends during this transition phase:

1. Please secure any and all information related to the transition from an

official source or representative of Unity of Sacramento. Know that we will be communicating about the transition through our official newsletter, text alerts, Sunday Announcements, and messages from the Ministers.

2. Please continue to invite friends and family to our services —online, home-hosted, and in-person services. You are the Beloved Community and you help spread the Unity message and the Unity way by inviting your friends and loved ones to participate in our ongoing services, classes and programs, no matter what form they may take. You are Unity!

Please be an active giver to our Unity of Sacramento ministry. Your financial support REMAINS vital for the overall health and well-being of our beloved community. Consider becoming a recurring giver, if you have not already committed yourself. Use the following link to donate. Your financial gifts power this ministry!

4. Please join us in praying for the future of our ministry. Use the prayer statement in this booklet at least once a day until we have relocated to our new permanent home. We believe in the prayer power and the power of God to be released and activated through our collective consciousness. We appreciate you using the prayer statement at the bottom of this page once a week, because each member and friend of Unity of Sacramento is a significant member of our Beloved Community, and every act of generosity, in great or small measure, adds to the collective field of love that we create every single week.

-Rev. Kev
